Programs

M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies allows students to pursue graduate study in concentrations such as Humanities, Contemporary Humanities, Ethics (Theoretical and Applied), or Cognitive Sciences
M.A. in Philosophy from University of Hertfordshire offers students a unique opportunity for UCF students to gain an international Philosophy MA degree that focuses on the themes of narrative, embodiment and action. The M.A. in Philosophy degree is awarded by the University of Hertfordshire with the majority of study conducted at UCF

Certificates

Students interested in continuing some form of graduate study after finishing their undergraduate major, graduate students enrolled in M.A. or Ph.D. programs who want to supplement their program with interdisciplinary study, teachers from local schools, and professionals from local institutions who want to enhance their educational credentials, may be interested in a Graduate Certificate in Ethics, Contemporary Humanities, or the Cognitive Sciences.

Cognitive Sciences is an interdisciplinary program focusing on specific topics in the study of natural and artificial cognitive systems. This interdisciplinary program draws from related courses in the departments of Communicative Disorders, Computer Science, English, Philosophy and Psychology
Theoretical and Applied Ethics is designed to provide a specialized investigation of ethical theory and issues from a philosophical as well as a subject-specific point of view. This interdisciplinary graduate certificate focuses on specific topics of ethical inquiry in philosophy, humanities, the arts, sciences, health care, business, education, criminal justice, public administration, public relations, journalism, politics and other areas.
Contemporary Humanities is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on contemporary Western and non-Western concerns. By encouraging students to develop unique, cross-disciplinary perspectives on how contemporary trends, such as advancing technology and globalization, affect who we are and what we are becoming, the certificate has the potential to affect scholarly inquiry in both humanistic and non-humanistic fields and to serve central Florida, a site of rapid technological and demographic change.
